HISTORY

In the industrial world the name ELEX is nowadays a big name and connects innovation with tradition like no other company as well as a quality with an unpaired client service. The ground stone of this success story was founded by Albert Meyerhofer and his son Ernst in the year of 1934. Also, the following generation, the two sons of Ernst, joined the company and proceeded in the spirit of their founding fathers. They have had great successes. In the time of the economical boom ELEX had over 160 persons employed.

At the beginning and also later during the Second World War ELEX had constantly done pioneering work and developed new products for their clients. The products convinced in the market to such an extent that sometimes they were even copied by their competitors. Although, there was a fierce price competition going on, ELEX had never lost any clients, due to the high quality and constancy of its products.

In the years of 1965/66 ELEX developed at its current site in Schwerzenbach a research institute. The experimental department had thus solved many problems that would not have been possible without the chance of testing it. In the year of 1970 American Airfilter (AAF) took over the majority of the privately owned shares of ELEX. This was a good decision at the time, because of the many synergies between the two companies. ELEX was bought back twenty years later by the proprietor family.

In the following years ELEX decided to enlarge its product line and introduced DeNOx and since 1998 also the combination between fabric filter and electrostatic precipitator built in two independent compartments: the hybrid filter. These additional standing legs have since improved very well and fostered the excellent image of ELEX on the international surface.
