Peter is not your typical salesperson \u2013 and that\u2019s a good thing. Talk to him for just a moment, and it becomes clear: it’s not about selling at any cost. It\u2019s about listening, understanding, and technical expertise. For many years, Peter has been the face of ELEX\u2019s sales department \u2013 while also being a passionate sports shooter, fair-weather motorcyclist, risotto chef, and boat captain on the Rhine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What he enjoys most about his work is personal contact: \u201cI like listening and approaching people openly \u2013 even though I\u2019m more on the quiet side,\u201d he says. And that mindset shapes his approach to sales: authentic, calm, and trustworthy. His tip for young sales talents? \u201cStay true to yourself. Don\u2019t pretend. And never promise something the product can\u2019t deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between Targets, Onions, and Rivers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Peter isn\u2019t working with customers, he enjoys hitting the mark \u2013 quite literally \u2013 as a passionate sports shooter. Calmness, focus, and preparation are just as important to him on the shooting range as they are in a client meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n

\"\"<\/p>\n\n\n

Outside of work, Peter enjoys a simple, local lifestyle \u2013 preferably with the smell of petrol or a boat engine in the air. He loves riding his motorcycle through the Alsace region or across Swiss mountain passes. Speed isn\u2019t the goal \u2013 it\u2019s all about the view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when he really wants to unwind, he heads to the Rhine:
After 25 years on the waiting list, he and his wife finally got a boat berth. Since then, their little \u201cB\u00f6\u00f6tli\u201d has been his favorite retreat \u2013 even though his boating license exam is remembered less for precision and more for a memorable<\/em> docking maneuver at the public swimming wall.<\/p>\n\n\n

All of this shows: While Peter often travels internationally for work, his heart beats for Switzerland \u2013 its nature, local clubs, community events, and the river right outside his door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Legendary Risotto \u2013 and a Common Sales Misconception<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His culinary trademark? Without a doubt: the famous porcini risotto he cooks for his shooting club \u2013 most recently 800 servings in a single weekend. His cooking passion began with a men\u2019s cooking course organized by the local women\u2019s association (true story). Today, he confidently stirs his giant pot at community events \u2013 to the delight of all attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n

And just like in the kitchen, Peter prefers doing over talking in the workplace. He likes to clarify one common misconception:
\u201cMany people think sales is about pushing something onto customers. But in technical sales, you need to know exactly what you’re talking about.\u201d
At ELEX, most of the sales team are engineers \u2013 including Peter.
Trust is built through expertise, not empty promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what always makes him laugh?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLittle slip-ups and misunderstandings you can laugh about together \u2013 even years later.\u201d
Like the time he accidentally shot at the wrong target during a shooting competition. Bad for the score, great for stories at the club house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
