SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is not only an internal priority, but an integral part of ELEX’s responsibility towards society and the environment. With over 90 years of history, it is embedded in our DNA.
As an internationally active environmental technology company, ELEX takes responsibility across all ESG areas (Environment, Social, Governance) and actively contributes to reducing emissions and improving air quality.
We do not separate “business” and “sustainability”. Our technologies are part of the solution:
- Environment: Reduction of particulate matter, pollutants and emissions at our customers’ sites
- Social: Reliable working conditions, long-term perspectives and real responsibility in everyday work
- Governance: Clear rules, no grey areas – integrity is a non-negotiable standard
Our current sustainability report provides a comprehensive overview of all relevant key figures, defined targets and implemented measures, and shows how sustainability is systematically managed and further developed at ELEX.
UMBAUTEN /
UPGRADES
Durch den Umbau von bestehenden Anlagen können mit relativ geringem Aufwand Kapazitätserhöhungen bewältigt oder neue Grenzwerte eingehalten werden. Umbauten erfordern ein hohes Mass an Erfahrung, da teilweise während des laufenden Betriebes und/oder in beengten Platzverhältnissen gearbeitet werden muss. Eine lange Liste von Referenzen ist der Beweis für die hohe Qualität unserer Umbaukonzepte. Dabei ist es uns wichtig, nur alles wirklich Notwendige zu ersetzen und bestehende Komponenten bestmöglich weiter zu verwenden.
Mögliche Varianten sind:
– Anbau von zusätzlichen Feldern
– Umrüstung von Fremdfiltern auf ELEX-Standard
– Erweiterung der Niederschlagsfläche durch Verlängerung der Feldlänge
– Einsatz alternativer HS-Technologien (SMPS oder Dreiphasen-Aggregate)
– Umrüstung von Elektrofiltern auf Hybridfilter
– Umrüstung von Elektrofiltern auf Gewebefilter
ECOVADIS
EcoVadis is an internationally recognised sustainability rating platform. It assesses how effectively companies integrate environmental, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement aspects into their business processes based on standardised criteria.
At the end of Q1 2026, the results of our EcoVadis rating were received. For an initial rating, the Bronze medal represents a strong outcome and confirms an above-average positioning. At the same time, it provides a solid foundation to further strengthen and develop sustainability performance in a targeted way.

Sustainability is not just an ambition for ELEX, but firmly embedded in measurable terms. Through defined key figures, ambitious targets and implemented measures, we ensure transparency of our progress and demonstrate how we systematically fulfil our responsibility.

DEVELOPMENT
We aim not only to keep pace, but to lead – with technologies and solutions that further reduce emissions and open up new pathways in the handling of CO₂.
We are currently developing a new technology in which high-performance plasma is applied directly within a CO₂-rich flue gas stream from industrial processes (e.g. in a cement plant). In this process, CO₂ released from raw material is converted into a combustible gas mixture of CO and O₂, which can be fed back into the process as a fuel. In this way, CO₂ becomes a usable energy source.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), defined by the United Nations, provide a global framework for sustainable economic, environmental and social development. They address key challenges such as climate protection, responsible production, fair working conditions and strong partnerships.
The SDGs guide how we align our activities and strengthen our impact in a structured way. We focus on those goals where we can make the greatest contribution through our technology, our processes and our role as an industrial partner.
The selected priorities are illustrated on the right and reflect our key areas of action: fair working conditions, responsible production, transparency and sustainable collaboration along the entire value chain. They are of key importance to our employees, our partners and the wider community.
